Evaluations Email

The NYBL Board of Directors met yesterday and put together the plan for evaluations. A reminder that evaluations are not a tryout. Also the players of coaches and assistant coaches do not go thru evaluations because they are assigned to the team based on the coaching staff. Thank you to the Division Directors and Coaches who have stepped up to help run NYBL which is a 100% volunteer run organization.

Pinto (6 thru 8 year olds) - No evaluations because coaches have not been identified. Ongoing process. In the meantime, teams will be formed for Pinto based on ages, comments and schools.

Mustang (9 and 10 year olds) - Evaluations will be Saturday afternoon. Slots are either at 2:30 or 3:15. Mustang Director: Chris Krulikowski

Bronco (11 and 12 year olds) - Evaluations will be Sunday evening. Slots are either 6:30 or 7:15. Bronco Director: Tom Armstrong

Pony players can stop by at the Sunday night evaluation if they want to try on a hat, jersey or pants.

The schedule is below. If your player cannot attend, please reply to [email protected] with your player's name and it will be noted. Player evaluations will take place at NYBL/Novi Heat's indoor baseball facility, The Strike Zone.

Please have the player dress in comfortable clothes and gym shoes. They will be running, throwing, swinging a bat, etc. Bring a baseball glove at a minimum. Other equipment can be brought to evaluations if the player prefers.

A reminder that the players of the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches do NOT attend evaluations as they will be assigned to teams based on who has volunteered to coach together. We do this to save time and to minimize confusion of what players will be included in the draft process.
